How to save all photos from a public Facebook profile

Download a profile's photos as original files with dates, 30 at a time, and keep the folder up to date.

Right-click → Save Image works for one photo. It does not work for a page with 800 of them, and Facebook’s own “Download your information” only covers your account. Here’s how to save a public profile’s photos as original files on your Mac.

Before you start

You’ll need Stogramable on an Apple Silicon Mac, and a Facebook account of your own to sign in with inside the app (Facebook hides most of a profile from logged-out visitors). The profile has to be public.

1. Add the profile

Add profile → paste the profile URL or a share link from the Facebook app. Stogramable resolves it to the real profile, removes tracking junk, and fetches the verified name and profile picture.

2. Sign in once

Click Log in in the header. Facebook opens in a separate window; sign in and close it. The session stays on your Mac and is never exported.

3. Load the photos

Open the profile’s Photos tab and click Load / refresh photos. Stogramable walks the profile’s photo viewers and lists photos with their original image URL and post date. Photos load in batches of 30; click Load more to keep going through older history. Already-seen photos are skipped, so you can stop and continue later.

4. Download

Select all → Download selected. Each file is downloaded at original size, verified by checksum, and written to:

~/Pictures/Stogramable/<Display Name | handle>/Pictures/

Captions are saved alongside. Watch the Downloads tab for progress and retry anything that fails.

5. Keep it current

Enable daily checks. While the app is open it checks once a day and downloads only what’s new. If you later move the archive to an external drive, change the location in Settings; the catalog knows what you already have.

What to expect

  • Facebook doesn’t always provide a “next” link at the end of a batch. When that happens, Stogramable says so rather than pretending it reached the end.
  • Profile pictures and cover photos are handled separately from the Photos tab.
  • Private profiles and Stories are not supported.
