FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What it does

What does Stogramable save?
From public Instagram profiles: photos, videos, Reels, and every image in a carousel. From public Facebook profiles: photos, Reels, and Highlight collections. Everything is saved as original files in folders on your Mac.
Does it save Stories?
No. Stories are not supported on either platform. If that changes it will be listed on the features page and in the changelog — we don’t advertise what isn’t built.
Does it work with private accounts?
No. Public profiles only. Stogramable does not bypass privacy settings and never will.
Can it get every post a profile has ever made?
It saves everything the platform exposes to a public viewer. Instagram and Facebook sometimes expose fewer posts than the counter shows, and older history can require several “Load more” passes. The app shows what it found and never claims completeness it can’t verify.
How do automatic checks work?
While the app is open, each followed profile is checked once a day. New items are downloaded; already-saved items are skipped by content hash. Close the app and checks pause until you open it again — there is no server doing this for you.

Accounts and privacy

Do I need to log in to Instagram?
No. Instagram profiles are read without any login or cookies, so your own Instagram account is never involved.
Why does Facebook need a login?
Facebook shows very little to logged-out visitors. Stogramable opens Facebook in a separate window inside the app; you sign in there with your own account, like a browser. The app reads the public profile pages you visit. Your password is never seen or stored by us, and the session is never exported.
What data does Stogramable send to you?
The website stores the email you give us on the waitlist. The app stores everything locally. When checkout opens, license checks send a license key and a device identifier — no profile names, no media, no browsing. Full details in the privacy policy.

Files

Where do downloads go?
By default ~/Pictures/Stogramable, with one folder per profile and Pictures / Reels / Highlights inside. Change the location in Settings, including to an external drive.
What happens to my files if I cancel?
Nothing. They are ordinary files in ordinary folders. Cancelling stops new downloads; it never deletes anything.
Does it re-download things I already have?
No. The app keeps a catalog of what’s saved and verifies files by checksum, so repeated checks only fetch what’s new.

Buying

How much does it cost?
$9.99/month or $69/year, one plan. Early-access members lock in $49/year. See pricing.
Is there a free trial?
7 days once checkout opens.
Windows?
Not yet. Leave your email and we’ll send one message if it ships.
Is this affiliated with Instagram or Facebook?
