How to download Facebook Reels on a Mac (from any public profile)

Save Facebook Reels as real MP4 files with audio, one profile at a time, and keep new ones coming automatically.

Updated September 16, 2026

Facebook has no “save video” button, the mobile app only lets you “save” a Reel inside Facebook itself, and most online downloaders want one link at a time and stop working every few weeks. If what you actually want is every Reel a page or person has posted, as normal files on your Mac, here is the reliable way.

What you need

  • A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 13 or later.
  • Stogramable installed.
  • Your own Facebook account. Facebook shows almost nothing to logged-out visitors, so the app opens Facebook in its own window and you sign in there — the same way you would in Safari. Your password never touches the app.
  • The profile must be public. Private profiles are not supported.

Step 1 — Add the profile

Open Stogramable and click Add profile. Paste the profile link. It can be a normal facebook.com/name URL or a share link copied from the Facebook app; tracking parameters are removed for you. Stogramable looks up the verified display name and profile picture so the folder is named properly.

Step 2 — Sign in to Facebook inside the app

Click Log in in the top-right corner. A separate Facebook window opens. Sign in, close it, and you’re back in Stogramable with the header showing Logged in. This session is isolated from Chrome or Safari and is never exported; Log out clears it.

Step 3 — Discover the Reels

Select the profile, open Photos & Reels → Reels, and click Discover Reels from profile. Stogramable scrolls the profile’s Reels tab for you and lists every Reel it finds with a thumbnail and date.

Step 4 — Download

Click Select all (or tick the ones you want), then Download selected. The Downloads tab shows live progress per file. Each Reel is saved as an MP4 with its original video and audio, verified after download, into:

~/Pictures/Stogramable/<Display Name | handle>/Reels/

If a Reel fails — Facebook sometimes rate-limits or serves a page the reader can’t parse — use Retry failed Reels. The app retries in small batches through the signed-in window and waits out cooldowns instead of hammering Facebook.

Step 5 — Let it keep going

Turn on daily checks for the profile. While Stogramable is open, it re-checks once a day and downloads only Reels you don’t have yet. Files you already saved are never downloaded twice.

Limits worth knowing

  • Facebook can expose fewer Reels than the profile appears to have. Stogramable shows what it found and never claims completeness it can’t verify.
  • Videos delivered as separate audio/video streams are not supported by the current reader; those will show as failed.
  • Stories are not supported.

That’s it: one profile, one folder, every Reel Facebook exposes, and new ones arriving on their own.
